What does the Certificate Training program for Dental Assistants involve?

The objective of the training program is to extensively train the participants acquire satisfactory skills and demonstrate competence in assisting the Dentist in variety of dental office procedures and laboratory techniques and make the patients comfortable throughout their presence in the Dental office.

Who should be interested in this?

Anyone who is interested in pursuing his/her real-world career in the rewarding field of dentistry as a person who is directly or indirectly involved in management of patients in the Dental office.

What would be the program duration?

The course would be divided into two modules done over a period of One month.

The first module would involve training the participants a basic behavior in the Dental office, mode of interaction with the patients, theoretical aspects of the basics of Teeth, Dental instruments and materials and different procedures in Dentistry.

The second module would involve working chair side and assisting dentists in a wide range of dental procedures.

What would you be learning?

You would be learning the protocols for patient care in the Dental Office, including but not limited to:

    obtaining dental records of the patients and making the patient comfortable for the treatment on the dental        chair.      
    sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipments, prepare instruments for dental procedures.
    to work alongside the dentist during a dental procedure by handing instruments and materials to dentists, keeping        patients' mouth dry by use of suction and keeping the operating area clear for dentist to work with precision.
    make casts from the impressions taken by dentist.
    Ordering supplies, tracking inventory and stocking.

Course  Details

Module 1:
Basic Dental office behavior, Patient and Interpersonal Communication Skills, patient interaction, Telephonic conversation, Appointments and Recall etc. Role in four handed dentistry. Maintaining patient records and protecting health information. Dental terminology and basic anatomy. Dental procedures and theory. Disease transmission, Asepsis protocols and techniques of sterilization of various instruments. Names of instruments, materials and equipment, their uses and assistants role in their use. Ordering supplies, tracking inventory and stocking

Module 2:
 Performing the Sterilization procedures for instruments, arranging instruments and materials for dental procedures and working chair side along with the Dentist in a Four handed Dentistry protocol.
